The data collection process collects medications that are found in the patients current medication list on the Summary Views > Medications tab > Current Medications. CAT4 does not make any decisions about whether a medication should actually have been removed from the patient's current medication list. The GP is responsible for making sure the list of medications is accurate and up to date.

Medications are mapped in a hierarchy - Class then Generic then Brand. If the generic names are listed then all brand names are mapped, and if a class is listed then all generic names and brand names are included.
