Rationale | The National Shingles Vaccination Program will provide free shingles vaccination to people at moderate to high-risk of severe infection and complications from shingles, A 2-dose vaccination schedule administered 2-6 months apart is recommended (1-2 months apart in immunocompromised). Health professionals can order supplies of Shingrix® through the usual NIP vaccine ordering channels |
| - people aged 50 years and older
- First Nations people aged 50 years and older
- Immunocompromised people aged 18 years and older with the following medical conditions:
- haemopoietic stem cell transplant
- solid organ transplant
- haematological malignancy
- advanced or untreated HIV.
