Identify patients eligible for lung cancer screening (B)

Rationale:

The national lung screening cancer program

Target:

Patients aged 50 to 70 with a history of smoking, and no diagnosis of lung cancer. 

CAT Starting Point:

  1. CAT Open - CAT4 view (all reports) loaded 
  2. Population Extract Loaded and Extract Pane “Hidden” 
    1. Filter Pane open and under the ‘General’ tab, ' Active Patients’ (3x <2 years) selected (this step can be omitted if you want to search for all patients).

Filter Steps 

On the General tab, enter age criteria (start age 50 to 70), activity status (Any) 

 

 On the Conditions tab, select ‘Cancer’ and under Thoracic and Respiratory 'No' for Lung 

 

 

On the Risk Factors tab, 'Yes' for Smoking  


 

Now all filter criteria have been set, click on 'Recalculate' to apply the filter: 

 


Report Steps 

To see the patients, click on the 'View Population' icon at the top of your screen. 


This will produce a list of patients meeting the criteria detailed above, with their contact details and with their last visit date and theirassigned provider in the last column. 

 

 

 

From this report, you can export the patient list to Excel or send voice or text messages directly from CAT4. To export a list, click on the disk icon and choose your preferred file format:
